Environmental policy

Café Connections try wherever possible to source products manufactured in the UK, thereby supporting the national economy and reducing the carbon footprint. Suppliers’ environmental policies and credentials are a significant factor in the process of evaluation and selection.

In our continuous effort to improve our services and provide convenience to our customers, we have introduced software that optimises deliveries for our multi-drop London routes. This advanced system is designed to organise our routes and stop sequences more efficiently, saving time and resources for both our team of drivers and customers. For all deliveries outside of London, national carriers are selected who follow good environmental practices.

Concern for the environment is a fundamental part of decision-making in all the company’s activities and we operate in ways which aim to contribute to lowering energy and fuel usage, reducing carbon emission and reducing and recycling waste throughout the company. Café Connections therefore actively encourages:

  • Switching off electrical appliances when not in use
  • Use of electronic means of communication to reduce the use of paper
  • Re-cycling of disposable waste and printer cartridges
  • Reduction in the use of water
  • Safe and efficient driving
  • Employee discussions for ongoing improvements to our environmentally friendly practices and social responsibilities.

Café Connections ensures, as a minimum, compliance with all applicable legal requirements as well as meeting or exceeding other requirements appropriate to the company’s activities. To this end the company adheres to The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations and is a registered member of the Biffpack Compliance Scheme.
